We are delighted to have enrolled two more of our ambitious team members into the SVQ Level 3 (SCQF Level 7) in Hospitality Leadership and Supervision Modern Apprenticeship program. This is a tried and tested route we use at the café with great effect to develop our junior and would be managers. We have found the Modern Apprenticeship program has helped our team members dramatically improve skills, knowledge and possibly most importantly, their confidence levels.
We run our SVQ’s in association with Karen Lindsay from Goal Training, Perth.
Karen takes our candidates through the course work necessary to meet the standard and attain the qualification, assessing them in the work place and through their written assignments. In tandem with the Apprenticeship syllabus we mentor our candidates through an individual on job project which helps them apply their learning and make a tangible impact in the business. This years projects are based around waste reduction, in particular looking at our disposable plates and the possible alternatives whilst considering all the implications on the operation and the environment. The other project involves setting up a system of gathering and measuring customer satisfaction, reviewing the data and making recommendations based on the findings to the management team.
The whole journey will take between 6-9 months to complete.
