Menu Guidance & Allergy Information
We know that we have serious responsibilities to you, our customers, to ensure that the food you eat is safe as well as being tasty. Furthermore, if you have medical, religious or moral reasons for making certain food choices, that you can trust the information we provide when you are making up your mind about eating with us.
We are feeding many thousands of people throughout the year and our aim is to ensure that we do, what we do well. We are not offering to be all things to all people because if we did, we would inevitably fail and the stakes are high. Our team are trained in what we offer but not in every conceivable allergy or dietary query. So, in the unusual event that we cannot accommodate your particular dietary requirement, we apologise in advance.
We have our café menu and cake range which includes a selection of vegetarian, vegan dishes and cakes.
We have a Gluten Free menu (available at the till) and cake range. In addition, we have an A grade as an Accredited Caterer from Coeliac UK.
We have menu information on the following 14 allergens which is available at the till and this information will tell you about each of these allergens in relation to every menu item we have available.
- Sesame Seeds
- Sulphur Dioxide/Sulphites
- Cereals containing Gluten
We fry all our food in Rapeseed oil. We have 5 separate ‘frying’ pans.
- A totally separate Gluten Free pan with its own filtration unit.
- Two chip pans where only chips are fried.
- A fish pan where only fish is fried.
- A pan for meat (haggis, sausages etc)
Whilst nothing but chips are cooked in the chip pans we cannot totally guarantee that absolutely no fat from meat or fish could have dripped into the chip pan. Cross contamination could possibly occur when meat products are passed over the chip pan or when products are in the hot cabinet, as excess oil from the hot cabinet recycles into the chip pans.
Our vegetarian griddle is used exclusively for cooking vegetables and vegetarian foods.
If you want something to eat that is totally guaranteed to be absolutely vegetarian or vegan then have a vegi burger or egg roll with corn chips or very often our soups can be too.
Nut and peanut allergy sufferers beware, we are a nutty environment.
We use peanuts and other nuts in our cooking and home baking and we are a long way from a hospital.
