Join us for the 2016 Boxing Day Dip and help us raise some much-needed money for the Falls of Dochart Retirement Home and the PSP Association. Run by owner of The Real Food Café, Sarah Heward this is an unforgettable day for anyone who joins in!

A great fun day out for all, whether you are participating in the dip or along for a jolly afternoon of fun, as a spectator.  We meet this year by the river’s edge at the Killin Hotel at 1.45pm on Boxing Day to watch the jumpers in fancy dress take the plunge at 2pm.  We have a competition for the best fancy dress costume and will be asking for your kind donations at the riverside.

This fun afternoon out then turns into a lovely, lively and sociable jolly! Join us after the 2pm plunge in the Killin Hotel for free hot chocolate and soup… or if your still in a mood for something cold we will have Mackie’s Ice Cream on offer.

In 2015 we raised a great £1,250 for both charities, but we are raising the bar and setting our sights on more this year for these incredible charities, both very close to our hearts.

The Jumpers: If you would like to join the jumpers, you simply need to turn up in fancy dress ready to take the plunge, but don’t forget a change of clothes!  The Killin Hotel kindly offers showers and changing facilities for the jumpers as well as refreshments and warming drinks.  The fire brigade and a doctor will be on hand to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all. Please note our strict rules… you must fully submerge! We are wicked, but it is GREAT fun!

How about this for something different? Support our antidote to Black Friday

At this time of year when commercialism goes crazy, we have come up with an alternative to Black Friday...It's called #CrapFriday and its all about raising money for, a charity which provides loos for people who don't have such luxuries. We will turn your would be discount into a donation every time you spend over £20 on food, or you buy some of our special treats and goodies at the till. The promotion runs to the end of November during which time we hope to raise at least £1000. If you are unable to join us in the cafe but would like to support us, you can do so at our Justgiving page

Please vote for us in The Great Outdoors Awards for Best Cafe 2016

We are thrilled to be shortlisted with the best cafes up and down the country that specialise in serving the outdoor community by The Great Outdoors Magazine in their 2016 Awards. We would love you to vote for us! You can do this by clicking on the link below.

Is it our location on the West Highland Way and in amongst some of Scotland's best loved Munro's and Corbett's, or the fact we are en route to the Big Ben? Alternatively, maybe its our real fire, the tasty food to re-fuel you, the delish cakes to treat yourself after a hard day on the hill, the magazines and maps for outdoor enthusiasts or the fact your mutt will be welcome too.....Whatever, it is, please vote for us!!

Many thanks!
